What's specific about Aprilia keys.
Aprilia's lineup splits into two technical families. The V4 platform — RSV4 and Tuono V4 1100 — is race-bred 1100cc 65-degree V4 that descends directly from Aprilia's MotoGP RS-GP program; these run Aprilia's premium transponder + APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) integration. The newer 660 parallel-twin platform — RS 660, Tuono 660, Tuareg 660 — uses a related but updated transponder generation introduced 2020. Older Shiver, Caponord, Dorsoduro models use earlier-generation Aprilia transponders. The SR Max and SR scooters use the Piaggio Group's scooter transponder platform shared with Vespa.

Mechanical / regular keys are flat-rate. Programmed keys (transponder, smart key, push-to-start) and all-keys-lost vary too much by year, model, and immobilizer system to publish a fixed range — quoted by phone before dispatch.

Common Aprilia questions.
RSV4 (the World Superbike-winning platform) — anything different about its keys?
The key system itself is standard Aprilia transponder. What's different is the APRC integration — the bike's electronics package is so deeply tied into the ECU that any work involving the key + ECU pairing needs to be verified end-to-end before you ride. We test the throttle map, traction control, and launch control engage correctly after key programming. 60–90 minutes typical.
RS 660 / Tuono 660 / Tuareg 660 — same programming as the V4 bikes?
Different generation. The 660 parallel-twin platform (introduced 2020) runs a newer transponder system that's actually slightly easier to program than the V4 platform. RS 660 and Tuono 660 are within our standard coverage.
Tuareg 660 lost-key in remote backcountry?
We come to where the bike is parked within our coverage area. Tuareg riders often venture beyond cell coverage — keep a spare programmed key in your luggage. The bike's ECU can hold up to 4 paired keys; we program new ones without erasing existing valid pairings.
Older Aprilia Shiver / Caponord / Dorsoduro — still serviceable?
Yes. The 750/900 V-twin Aprilias from the 2010s are within our equipment coverage for most years. Bring year and VIN when you call so we confirm the right blank for your specific ignition cylinder.
