Moto Guzzi motorcycle key replacement & programming.
Lost your Moto Guzzi key, broken it in the ignition, or need a programmed spare? We come to you — driveway, parking lot, dealership lot, marina (for watercraft) — and cut and program your replacement key on-site. Mandello del Lario, Italy. 1921 to today. Moto Guzzi is one of the oldest motorcycle brands still in continuous production — and the only one with the iconic transverse V-twin engine signature. Family-owned with dealer-grade equipment in every truck since 2007.
What's specific about Moto Guzzi keys.
Moto Guzzi's transverse V-twin engine layout — cylinders sticking out either side of the bike — is unmistakable, and it changes how some service work flows. Ignition switches sit on top of the tank or stem rather than tucked into the lower fairing, which means we work standing up rather than crouched. From a key-programming standpoint, modern Guzzis (V7 III, V9, V85 TT, current California) run a transponder-based immobilizer that we program with European motorcycle equipment. Older 1100i, Breva, and pre-2014 California typically use mechanical-only ignition without immobilizer — we cut those by code or impressioning.
Moto Guzzi models we service most.
Coverage typically extends across the full Moto Guzzi lineup. If your model isn't listed, call us — we likely cover it.
Moto Guzzi motorcycle key pricing.
Mechanical / regular keys are flat-rate. Programmed keys (transponder, smart key, push-to-start) and all-keys-lost vary too much by year, model, and immobilizer system to publish a fixed range — quoted by phone before dispatch.
Whatever we quote on the phone is what you pay on arrival — key blank, cutting, on-site programming, dispatch all included. For the full motorcycle-services overview see the /motorcycle-keys parent page.
Common Moto Guzzi questions.
Does the transverse V-twin layout change anything for key work?
It changes the ergonomics for our tech (working standing up rather than around fairings) but not the programming approach. Ignition cylinders are still pin-tumbler, transponders still talk to the ECU. The Mandello bikes are honestly some of the easier Italian bikes to service mechanically — the engine layout makes everything accessible.
V85 TT lost a key in the middle of an overlanding trip?
We come to where the bike is parked — within our Delaware Valley + Houston coverage. V85 TT uses the standard Moto Guzzi transponder; new key programmed on-site once we confirm year, VIN, and ownership documentation. Carry a spare on long trips — every adventure rider should.
Pre-2014 California — does it have an immobilizer?
Most pre-2014 California 1100 / Vintage / Touring models are mechanical-only ignition, no transponder. Cut on-site for $185–$250 flat. Modern California 1400 (2014+) uses transponder programming — call for price.
Eagle-tank-emblem owners' community — do you handle the older 1990s–2000s Guzzis?
Yes. Older Le Mans, Breva, V11 Sport, Stelvio NTX models are within our coverage. The Eagle community treats keys like the rest of the bike — preserve original where possible. We can rekey original cylinders or grade-match replacements for vintage restoration projects.
